Must suck to be Bill Zerella, the CFO of a has-been company that needs to hate on Apple in an attempt to make his product seem relevant.
“If you don’t have an Apple phone, you’re not buying an Apple Watch… [and] 80% of the world is Android, not Apple,” he said.
Riiiiiiight, Bill. Same old story. Lots more market share must mean better, right…? Too bad you throw in third-world countries, the poor, the misinformed, etc., when you make up statistics. To be fair, the numbers are probably close to correct. However…
It’s easy to laugh at this. Apple Watches are now the best-selling wearable smart device in the world, while Fitbit’s struggles have sent its stock price plunging 75% since its 2015 IPO. Falling sales and tough competition swung it from a 2015 net profit of $105 million to a 2017 net loss of $277 million.
Isn’t it nice, Mr. Stupid Zerella, that the watch you deem with insignificant market share not only is the best-selling smart watch, but your own company has taken a nice net loss of $277 in 2017? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!
Last quarter, Apple Watch sales jumped 57% to 8 million, according to International Data Corporation. Fitbit unit sales fell 17% to 5.4 million.
Oh, those of you who know me know that I don’t think everyone in the world should choose Apple. If
Android Wear WearOS is your thing or Fitbit is your thing, then be happy. Get those products and enjoy. That said, when you have to blatantly insult and lie about the competition, that’s when you lose my respect.
This is what happens when you talk a bunch of Zerella.
